KION Forklift
Advandes worked with a German multinational manufacturer KION Group AG (styled as KION Group) to design and develop an enclosure for a forklift. The aim was to create an aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically viable design with internal metal structure. Along with industrial design and engineering Advandes also worked on company branding and graphics to increase brand visibility.
This enclosure has been designed and engineered to suit the user profiles working in warehouses focusing on its functional and utilitarian aspect to ensure practicality and safety. The panels are designed showcasing a swift and expeditious design language so that the viewer visually understands that the forklift works efficiently and speedily. As an intra-logistic transportation our forklift will be cutting swiftly through compact spaces of warehouse.
Advandes worked on the engineering of the finalized concept. Concept design was translated into CAD to develop a detailed 3D model. The 3D model was a detailed assembly of all the designed panels and sheet metal structure that forms the enclosure. Panels were considered to be of durable FRP material with internal metal structure to provide protection and withstand the demands of the work environment.
Advandes made the prototype of this product which included the development of FRP molds, FRP panels and sheet metal structure. Panels were made of good quality finishing and painting. Panels and structure were assembled in the forklift and ensured that proper assembly and disassembly of the panels is possible.
Driver controls and interiors are carry over from another vehicle, integration and briding the gap was taken care jointly wit customer. Fork lift requires alround visibilty thus our team ensured minimal but safe structure in the A pillar area. Driver can move in and out of the vehicle effortlessly with skateboard type of floor, grab handles on front pillars and ergonomically designed steps.
Advandes team mainly worked on styling and small improvements were suggested in existing structures. Many forklifts have heavy roof frame often obstructs the top visibility. However if we align the structure as per operators view point inclined improves visibilty. Advandes team over a decade worked in the field of material handling developed several sucessful products launched in the market like walk behind stackers, ride on stackers, tuggers, fork lifts 2T, 3T, 5T, 10T upto 30T.
